Welcome to Juniper's Ongoing Studies Program.
1. Personal growth through learning and deepening one's understanding of Buddhist meditation, practice, and philosophy through the Juniper lineage; and
2. A springboard for developing curriculum, teachers and discussion leaders to become part of Juniper’s educational system in the future.
Individuals who wish to deepen their practice and studies through:
The program will be continuous, with time off for occasional breaks and holidays. To start, the group will meet on ZOOM on the first, third, and fifth Mondays of each month at 5:30-6:45 pm PST. Topics and assignments will be based on The Great Stages of the Path (Lam Rim) and related texts and commentaries and will draw upon modern philosophy and research for understanding and interpretation. Topics will include the nature and potential of the mind, the nature of reality, rebirth, suffering, meditation, balancing emotions, compassion, insight, relying on the teacher, preparation for deity yoga, and integrating dharma with modern knowledge and culture.
Lawrence Levy will lead the sessions. The program is included in Juniper's monthly membership fee.
